How do I know if my shower is leaking?

Common signs include water stains on the ceiling below, soft or spongy flooring adjacent to the shower, musty smells, peeling paint or wallpaper near the shower wall, and visible damp patches. If you notice any of these, have the shower checked early, because the damage from a leak builds the longer it runs.

Do you need to remove tiles to fix a leak?

Not for the repairs we carry out. We use non-invasive leak detection, including moisture meters and thermal imaging, to find the source without lifting tiles. Repairs such as resealing the joints or regrouting the affected area are then done in place. If the waterproofing membrane beneath the tiles has failed, we tell you at the inspection. That calls for renovation work, which falls outside what we do.

How long does a shower leak repair take?

Most repairs are completed in a single visit of 2 to 4 hours, and larger regrouting jobs can take up to a day. After epoxy work, the shower can’t be used for at least 36 hours so the epoxy cures properly. We’ll give you a clear timeframe when we quote.

How much does it cost to fix a leaking shower?

We price by the job rather than by the hour. The price depends on the size of the shower and the extent of the damage. You’ll have a written quote before any work starts, setting out anything that could add to the cost, such as the shower not being clean and dry when we arrive or hairline grout cracks that need regrouting.

Do you offer a warranty on your work?

Yes. Our epoxy work carries a 5-year conditional warranty that covers only the work listed on your invoice. It doesn’t cover house movement, or work carried out at other times or by other contractors. If epoxy work covered by the warranty doesn’t hold, our team comes back and puts it right.
