Real Plumbers. Leak Specialists.
Most leaks don’t show up where the water lands. At Leak Hunters, finding the true source is all we do. Using moisture mapping, pressure testing and shower leak detection, we pinpoint exactly where water is escaping, then fix it with proven shower sealing repairs.
Where the grout or tiling has failed, our team carries out shower regrouting and grout repair rather than replacing the whole wet area. We trace balcony and strata leak repairs between floors as well, and every job starts with a shower leak inspection and a written quote.

Got Questions? We've Got Answers.
The usual signs are water stains or bubbling paint on the ceiling or wall below the bathroom, loose or drummy (hollow-sounding) tiles, mould that keeps returning along the grout, and a damp smell that lingers hours after the shower has dried. Most shower leaks stay hidden until they reach the room below, so these signs are worth acting on quickly. Our team confirms the source with acoustic leak detection, which uses sound to trace water escaping behind the tiles, backed up by moisture readings before any repair starts.
Most shower leaks come down to failed waterproofing or worn seals rather than the plumbing itself. Over time, the silicone around the screen and joints dries out and cracks, grout shrinks and lets water through, and the waterproofing beneath the tiles breaks down, especially in older or heavily used bathrooms. Building movement and poor original workmanship are common culprits, too. Our team works out which of these is behind your leak before recommending a fix.
A slow leak rarely looks urgent, but the damage builds quietly. Water tracks into wall cavities, subfloors and ceilings, rotting timber, lifting tiles and feeding mould, and in a unit, it can reach the apartment below and become a strata issue. The longer it runs, the bigger and more expensive the repair, so catching it early usually means a straightforward re-seal rather than a rebuild.
In most cases, no. Our team fixes the majority of leaks in place with shower re-sealing, which renews the failed joints, seals and grout so your tiles and bathroom stay intact. Full tile removal is a last resort we only recommend when the waterproofing beneath the tiles has broken down completely. Where the tiling itself is worn, cracked or stained, our tile and grout restoration service brings it back without a full rebuild.
Costs depend on the cause. A re-seal or regrout sits at the lower end, while repairs where water has got past the tiles or damaged the subfloor cost more. We don’t quote blind. Our team inspects the shower and works out whether it’s the seals, the grout or the waterproofing membrane, the waterproof layer beneath the tiles. You then get a written quote before any work begins, setting out anything that could add to the cost. Book a leak inspection to get started, with no obligation. For larger repairs, payment plans are available through Brighte, subject to credit approval.
A standard re-seal or regrout is usually finished in a single visit, often within a few hours. After epoxy work, the shower can’t be used for at least 36 hours so the epoxy cures properly. After a silicone-only reseal, we tell you how long to leave the shower before using it. Larger repairs take longer, and our team gives you a clear timeframe with your quote.
Yes. Our epoxy work carries a 5-year conditional warranty that covers only the work listed on your invoice. It doesn’t cover house movement, or work carried out at other times or by other contractors. We’re fully licensed and insured, and you get a written quote before we start that sets out anything that could add to the cost. If epoxy work covered by the warranty doesn’t hold, our team comes back and puts it right.
Yes. A leaking shower in a unit often results in water damage in the apartment below, making it a common source of strata disputes. Our team works with owners, tenants and strata managers to find the source, document it and repair it with minimal disruption to either property. Leaks crossing balconies, bathrooms and common areas are covered by our balcony and strata leak repairs.
